Robert has 30+ years of management consulting leadership experience; with the past 27 years at LEK Consulting focused on the issues of growth strategy and M&A advisory support. In that capacity, Robert has led more than 800 consulting projects helping his clients across a range of value creating engagements. Rourke started and led the Industrials Practice of LEK with a disproportionate focus on the building products and construction materials industries. He has been instrumental in some of the largest transactions in the sector and was pivotal to some of the game-changing events in the industry over the past 15 years. The impact, under his leadership, helped establish LEK as one of the pre-eminent strategy advisors in the sector.
Robert’s leadership extended to the global consulting firm as well. He was the President of the America’s Region of LEK through YE 2021 overseeing 7 offices, 800 personnel and leading the firm through an unprecedented period of growth and profitability. He also served on the firm’s Global Board of Directors for many years and helped guide the firm’s most critical decisions including M&A, rebranding, and a new strategy.
Since retiring full time from LEK, Robert has joined the advisory and executive Boards of select PE firms, and has been investing in various private equity deals. He has also joined the Board of Directors of a leading building products high end residential access systems business, EuroWall.
Robert has been a lecturer at Northwestern University Kellogg School on M&A and Innovation Commercialization. Robert is an Executive in Residence at the Ross School of Management at the University of Michigan. Robert’s writings and IP are part of various curricula at different business schools, have been republished by several periodicals and he has been featured as a speaker at WEF, Davos and are used in a variety of business schools as part of their curricula.
Rourke received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, graduating with Distinction, with a focus on finance and strategy. Robert did his undergraduate work at Syracuse University with a BS in finance and a minor in Econ.
