We are excited to share a major milestone for fellow Ross Alum, Chin Weerappuli, Vice President at IgniteData, following the company's recent Series A financing. As part of this growth, IgniteData welcomed fellow Wolverine, David Rhew, Chief Medical Officer at Microsoft, to its Board of Advisors.

Chin's journey into clinical research technology is deeply personal. After his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, access to clinical research played a vital role in her treatment. She has since completed therapy and is now off treatment. That experience inspired Chin to join IgniteData in 2023 after connecting through the Michigan ross network with the company's CEO, Zach Taft. Zach too is a proud Wolverine, exemplifying the reach and impact of Michigan alumni in healthcare innovation.

In a short time, Chin has helped lead partnerships with 8 of the top 10 cancer centers in the United States, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, accelerating the use of technology to bring research closer to patients. 

We are proud to celebrate Chin's impact and the growing role Ross alumni are playing in advancing healthcare innovation. Chin's journey exemplifies how Michigan Ross alumni leaders are changing the face of healthcare innovation and the impact you can make, when vision meets collaboration.
