Alexandra Scholten

Class of 2025

Hello! My name is Alexandra Scholten and I'm excited to be a part of the Michigan Ross Alumni Ambassador program. I'm a proud graduate of the Weekend MBA program and currently work in Finance at Ford Motor Company.

I have two undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University in Political Theory and Finance. I then pursued a Master's in Accounting from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. While these degrees provided a solid foundation, I knew I wanted to further develop my strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, and business acumen through an MBA. Thus, I graduated in 2025 from the Weekend MBA program here at Ross.

Choosing the Michigan Ross Weekend MBA program was the perfect fit for me. The flexibility of the program allowed me to continue advancing my career while gaining access to Ross's top-tier faculty, challenging curriculum, and incredible network right here in Michigan. It was an intense but incredibly rewarding experience that significantly shaped my perspective on business and leadership.

Professionally, I've spent nearly five years at Ford Motor Company, primarily in finance roles. Early in my career, I had the unique opportunity to contribute to the finance team during the complex 2023 UAW negotiations – it was a fast-paced, high-stakes environment that taught me a tremendous amount about strategic financial planning under pressure. Currently, I work as a Pricing Analyst within the Ford Customer Service Division, leveraging data and financial analysis to inform pricing strategies. The analytical frameworks and strategic insights I gained at Ross have been directly applicable to my work, helping me tackle complex problems and contribute to key business decisions.

Outside of work and my Ross connections, I love to stay active and spend time outdoors, especially hiking. When I'm not on the trails, you can usually find me with my husband and our two dogs – they keep life fun and active!

My time at Ross was truly transformative, and I'm passionate about sharing my experience with others who are considering pursuing their MBA, particularly through the Weekend program. I know how important it is to connect with current students and alumni when making such a big decision.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about the Weekend MBA program experience, balancing work and studies, navigating a career in finance (especially in the automotive industry!), or anything else about my journey. If you have questions about the area, I am a Michigan native and would be happy to share some of the best places to visit. I'm here to help and look forward to connecting with you!
