Alonzo Wilson

Class of 2028

Hello! My name is Alonzo Wilson, I'm currently pursuing accounting and consulting. I'm from the Eastside of Detroit and I decided to pursue Michigan because of the endless opportunities it provides. From being flown out by large firms to being selected for programs, Michigan Ross has transformed my professional and academic journey. I did a program called MREACH for 2 years during high school where I fell in love with Ross. However, I never wanted to attend college because I was an entrepreneur at heart. When I started my photography business at 14 I thought that it could sustain me forever and I could be the next young millionaire. I later realized that you need the connections, education, and influence to really scale and I knew Michigan would be the place for me to gain these key skills. Since coming to campus I've been involved in a few clubs and even co-found a business club called Faith & Enterprise Consulting where Christian Faith is combined with business. I even went from being a member to the Vice President of Marketing in the Black Business Undergraduate Society! Growing up I've always enjoyed fashion and I found a community here through EnspiRED Model Runway where I was taught how to walk, pose, and find myself through fashion. Michigan Ross has many centers for your interests and the Zelle Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurship caught my eye. As a freshman I went through the program and they awarded me a business grant to continue to scale my photography. I'm truly blessed to be here and have so many communities that remind me everyday why I'm here.
