Avery Eckebrecht

I’m a second-year Student Ambassador for the Michigan Ross Online MBA, where I’m passionate about helping prospective students understand what makes Ross a uniquely collaborative, action-oriented place to grow. I earned my B.S. in Management from the United States Air Force Academy in 2017 and bring 8 years of Active Duty Air Force experience. For the first 7 years I served as an HH-60 helicopter pilot and rescue mission lead and now I am a T-6 Instructor Pilot in Undergraduate Pilot Training. Outside of the Air Force, I run my own business as an online fitness coach. Most days I am working for 12+ hours on top of being a husband and father of 3 wonderful children, so I have a lot of lessons learned and gained perspective on managing time around the busy course load here at Ross. 

At Ross, I’m focused on expanding my knowledge across core business disciplines while sharpening skills I can apply immediately to my everyday life such as operations and leading cross-functional teams in dynamic environments. As an ambassador, I’m a candid resource on the realities of the Online MBA balancing work, running a business, school, and family. I will give you my experience on how to balance life while still getting the most from live classes. I’m humbled everyday by my amazing classmates from every industry you can imagine and the value they bring into every class, I am truly always learning here at Ross. The culture here at Ross is like a big family that always wants you to be the absolute best version of yourself and will push you towards that.
