Clayton John Schaefer
Howdy ya'll! I grew up in Centerburg, Ohio (fun fact, it's the geographical center of Ohio) and have been in the Columbus area for the majority of my life! After high school I did a year of college at a smaller school so that I could play basketball and live out my childhood dreams of being in the NBA. I ultimately decided that I would take my talents elsewhere and ended up joining the Ohio Army National Guard as a combat medic. I have spent the past decade completing multiple active duty rotations including a deployment to the Middle East while simultaneously completing my degree at Ohio State.
I now work full time as a police officer in central Ohio where I get to have a tangible impact on people's lives! Being a cop has allowed me to connect with a multitude of individuals from different backgrounds and has given me the tools to be an effective communicator (it has also drained my bank account significantly with all the Girl Scouts who sell cookies to the community). I applied to the Ross OMBA program so that I could further expand my leadership and strategic capabilities. I believe in continuous growth, and I am always looking for new opportunities to apply my skills in new, impactful ways.
My wife and I have two beautiful children, three dogs, and a cat (she is a veterinarian so we somehow end up with a new animal each week). Whenever I am not at work I enjoy watching Bluey for the 73rd time, fly fishing, camping, basketball, researching various topics, and traveling!
Please reach out! It can be about Ross, how your day was, or anything in between--I look forward to connecting with you!
