Harish Kohli
Hi! I’m Harish, a proud member of the MBA class of 2027 at Ross!
I currently work at General Motors as System Integration Manager, where I manage operations and product responsibilities for controller and electronics sourcing across major vehicle programs. My career has spanned technical program management, supplier alignment, budgeting, and long-term program planning. All these experiences have taught me how complex problems are solved at scale in a fast-moving industry. As my role expanded beyond engineering into strategy, negotiations, and cross-functional leadership, I realized I needed to sharpen my business foundation and broaden my impact. That’s what brought me to the top school - Ross!
The Weekend MBA program has already been a transformational experience. The mix of rigorous coursework, collaborative case discussions, and action-based learning has helped me connect the dots between strategy, operations, and financial decision-making. What I love most is how immediately applicable the learning is, i.e., many of the frameworks from class show up in my work the very next week. The cohort structure has also been incredibly rewarding. Traveling between Michigan and Austin while balancing a demanding job hasn’t always been easy, but the supportive Ross community has made the journey both achievable and enjoyable.
What sets Ross apart for me is the people. You’re surrounded by classmates who bring diverse backgrounds, ambitious goals, and authentic collaboration. The environment encourages you to stretch beyond your comfort zone, whether in leadership development, consulting projects, or simply pushing your own thinking.
Outside work and school, I actively participate in various clubs, such as being Director of Marketing for “Working for Weekend Podcast”, and taking on new personal projects, from running small business experiments to building communities with classmates. I’m also passionate about mentoring and helping others navigate career pivots, work-life balance, and the decision to pursue an MBA.
