John Carmelo

Class of 2027

Hello! My name is John Carmelo. I live in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. I am an active duty Pennsylvania Army National Guard Officer, and have been serving for over 17 years. I am currently assigned to Temple University Army ROTC as an Assistant Professor of Military Science where I teach Leadership & Ethics to Sophomores, and provide overall coaching, teaching, and mentorship to develop all cadets into the future leaders of the United States Army.

I chose to pursue an MBA because I am retiring from the Army in 2028 and wanted to ensure I had a great business education for when I transition into the private sector after retirement. I chose Ross’s OMBA program after searching through several top programs to try and find the right mix of quality, flexibility, and culture. After I attended Ross’s OMBA Webinar, and talked to some current students, the choice was clear.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, weight lifting, playing tennis, and attending social events with friends. I have previously served as a board member for veterans’ organizations, scholarships, and nonprofit education foundations. I am also a member of the VFW, American Legion, and The Union League of Philadelphia.
