Joseph A. Winkler
I'm originally from Arcata, CA, and attended Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, CA, before coming to Ross. Prior to my MBA, I worked in the social impact space, including serving in the Peace Corps, and fundraising for organizations like Greenpeace and The Nature Conservancy. I decided to pursue an MBA because long-term, I aim to apply the skills I learn in business to improve nonprofit operations and create lasting impact.
When I was choosing between programs, the strong student community at Ross really stood out to me. In my conversations with students and alumni, I felt a genuine sense of welcome that I didn't experience at other schools. As someone interested in supply chain and operations, the Tauber Institute for Global Operations was a major factor in my decision to choose Ross. The opportunity to combine technical operations training with hands-on experience through the institute made Ross the perfect fit for me.
I'm currently recruiting for roles in Tech and am excited to leverage my background in social impact alongside my new operations skills. If you're interested in learning more about the Tauber Institute or making the transition to business school from a non-traditional background, I'd love to chat. Feel free to reach out!
