Kazuaki Noguchi
I grew up in Yokohama, Japan, and Ross is my first time living abroad.
Before Ross, I spent 9+ years in accounting and finance. I began my career at Nippon Steel as an FP&A analyst, managing manufacturing and procurement cost budgets, evaluating capital investments, and supporting executives with ad-hoc financial modeling. After earning my CPA, I joined KPMG Japan as a transfer pricing advisor. There, I advised 40+ clients across the technology, retail, healthcare, and industrial sectors on strategic pricing and transaction structures, asset-transfer valuations, and negotiations with tax authorities—building strong valuation, project management, and client-relationship skills in cross-border settings.
I’m pursuing a career in investment banking, where I contribute to my clients, innovating and brightening our world, through strategic financial advice, leveraging the experience and takeaways from Ross. At Ross, I’m deepening my finance, strategy, and leadership skills through coursework and the Sanger Leadership Center.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports: I played lacrosse for seven years through high school and college and won a national championship in Japan. I’m also a former men’s physique competitor, 20+ years LA Dodgers fan, and now a big supporter of Michigan Wolverines Football (Go Blue!).
During my application, the support of Ross students and alumni—especially while I was waitlisted in Round 1—made a huge difference. I’m grateful and excited to pay it forward. If you’re exploring Ross, please feel free to reach out.
