Mariana Chapouto Lopes
Hi! My name is Mariana Lopes and I am from São Paulo, Brazil.
I came to the University of Michigan to pursue a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability. I soon found myself asking: "We already have so many solutions to address social and environmental challenges, how can we create financial strategies to implement and scale them?". This question inspired me to embark on an MBA journey at the Ross School of Business, with the aim of bridging the gap between business and sustainability.
Before attending Ross, I gained experience in corporate sustainability, climate strategy, waste management, and environmental technology, working as a consultant and supporting project implementation across both the private and public sectors. These experiences strengthened my interest in the intersection of sustainability and finance and inspired me to delve deeper into the fields of emerging markets, sustainable development finance, impact investing, and public-private partnerships.
As part of the Erb Institute and as a Student Ambassador, I would love to connect with you, discuss meaningful ways to link business and sustainability, tell you more about the opportunities at Ross and hear your stories and dreams!
Can't wait to connect!
Follow your dreams! Go Blue!
