Melody Cheng

Hi there! I’m Melody, a first-year MBA candidate at Ross. I’ve spent most of my life in Taiwan and Canada, and I recently relocated to Ann Arbor to start my MBA journey.

Prior to Ross, I worked in financial services in Toronto, focusing on developing and executing strategic initiatives within consumer lending and retail financing. While my work was always evolving, I was especially drawn to projects where I could solve complex business problems and drive growth. Seeing ideas turn into real impact made me realize I wanted to pursue a career in strategy and consulting. 

I chose Ross because of its strong action-based learning approach, which has allowed me to deepen that passion by working on real-world challenges alongside a diverse group of peers. Within my first week at Ross, I was truly blown away by the collaborative environment, engaging lectures, and supportive community. Outside of work and school, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, testing out new coffee beans, playing video games, and browsing through grocery store aisles.

Having been in your shoes just a year ago, I know how overwhelming this journey can feel and I’m genuinely excited to support everyone interested in joining the Ross community.
