Merwan Nur
What’s up everyone! My name is Merwan and I am a BBA student at the Ross School of Business. I’m originally from Chicago, Illinois, and I’m so excited that you’re considering Ross as the place to spend your college years! Coming to Ross has been one of the best decisions of my life, and I’m proud to call this community my home.
Like many incoming students, I was both excited and a little nervous about making friends and figuring out my path in business. Looking back, I can honestly say Ross has given me more than I ever expected — from incredible classmates who became close friends, to mentors and professors who genuinely care about my growth, to opportunities that have challenged and shaped me both personally and professionally.
Outside of the classroom, I’ve been involved in organizations like Michigan Hedge Fund Club, where I served as VP of Investments, working to build and manage our portfolio and helping new members build a strong foundation in finance. I’ve also joined professional and service-based clubs, from Delta Sigma Pi to volunteering efforts, all of which have allowed me to give back to the community while continuing to grow my skills. My time at Ross has also included preparing for investment banking recruiting, which was a challenging but rewarding journey that taught me resilience, time management, and the value of building strong relationships.
Ross is truly a place where you can explore your passions — whether that’s finance, consulting, entrepreneurship, or anything in between — while being supported by a community that wants to see you succeed. I feel grateful for the opportunities and friendships I’ve built here, and I’m excited to help prospective students like you see what makes this place so special.
