Michael Clark

Class of 2027

Hey there! I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and came to Ross from Washington, DC, where I spent the past year as a Systems and Software Engineer at a government nonprofit supporting national security and defense initiatives. Before that, I served 4.5 years in the U.S. Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer, leading teams of up to 30. While I valued the leadership opportunities in the military and the technical challenges of engineering, I knew I wanted to build a stronger business foundation and pivot into a career where I could merge finance, strategy, and impact.

Ross stood out to me because of the collaborative community and the opportunity to dive into hands-on learning through MAP, the Zell Lurie Institute, and of course, Michigan sports. I’m particularly interested in how capital can be deployed to drive both financial returns and social good, with a long-term goal of launching my own firm to expand access to housing for veterans and first-time buyers.

In my free time, I love flying planes, scuba diving, skydiving, and exploring new places (47 states and over a dozen countries so far!). Closer to home, you can usually find me running around Ann Arbor, tailgating on game days, or catching up with friends over food and drinks.

I’m happy to chat about career transitions, veterans at Ross, finance, social impact, or life in Ann Arbor. Looking forward to connecting!
