Mohammad Farazuddin
Hello readers! I prefer to go by Faraz..:) I am a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, currently working as a Research Assistant Scientist at the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center within Michigan Medicine. My research focuses on how the immune system responds to viral infections and how tolerance develops toward food proteins. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of working under an exceptional mentor and building a strong foundation in immunology.
Throughout my career, I have independently developed several projects examining the role of dietary vitamin A in mucosal immunity and contributed to multiple NIH-funded studies on influenza vaccine development and the impact of early-life immunization on immune system programming. My work integrates fundamental immunology with translational science to uncover mechanisms that can be harnessed for therapeutic interventions.
My professional journey reflects a deep commitment to mentorship, innovation, collaboration, and impact. I have trained and guided over a dozen undergraduate students, technical staff, and medical trainees, led multiple research initiatives, and served on editorial boards for leading immunology journals. Known for bridging scientific depth with strategic thinking, I thrive at the intersection of discovery and its real-world application.
Currently, I am pursuing my MBA at the Ross School of Business (Class of 2027), where I am expanding my understanding of business strategy, leadership, and innovation. My goal is to merge scientific insight with business acumen to drive advancements in biotechnology and healthcare. As a Ross Student Ambassador, I aim to foster connections between the scientific and business communities, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and inspire others to pursue transformative careers that bridge science and enterprise.
