After obtaining my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, I started working as a design engineer at the local natural gas distribution utility company in northern Illinois. I began working on small to medium complex projects, eventually working my way up to lead the design of a capstone project for the engineering team. I pivoted to system planning where I started to understand business strategy by performing short and long term hydraulic planning for various regions.
While I enjoy my time in engineering, I knew my goal was a management role at the intersection of energy and technology. The Weekend program at Ross was the perfect fit. I would be able to continue working and developing my strategic planning skills, while getting a world class education over the weekend and applying it the next week. The lock-step cohort system was also another key factor because this allows everyone to form a strong network right off the start and develop it over the course of two years. The variety of different clubs, programs, and career development opportunities add to the positive experience of the weekend program.
I am very grateful to be part of such a great community at Ross. Feel free to reach out to me about anything related to the program, commuting from Illinois, or the recruiting experience as a weekend student.
