Prashant Kandoi
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, where I was often at my dad’s stores talking to customers and learning the ropes of business early on. That curiosity led me to start my first venture, a restaurant, while still in college. Since then, I’ve founded businesses across garment manufacturing, ethical retail, and hospitality before joining my family’s gemstone retail company. There, I led expansion into six countries, launched a personalized jewelry line, and helped prepare the company for a 2030 IPO by centralizing operations. Along the way, I also championed gender equity.
I chose Ross because I wanted to formalize my entrepreneurial experience and build a strong foundation in strategy and operations. From my very first interactions with students and alumni, the collaborative culture at Ross stood out. The action-based learning model felt like the perfect fit for someone like me who has learned most by doing. Being part of a community that genuinely supports each other while pushing you to grow made Ross an easy choice.
Outside of academics, I love adventure sports—I’ve completed nine high-altitude treks above 17,000 ft, trained in paragliding, and skied across India and Nepal. I’m also a Formula 1 fanatic, having attended two live races and looking forward to the U.S. Grands Prix during my MBA. If you’d like to chat about entrepreneurship, life at Ross, or just swap trekking and F1 stories, feel free to reach out!
