Roderick L. Emanuel Jr.
I am a first-year MBA candidate at Michigan Ross in the Fast Track in Finance program and a member of The Consortium. Before Ross, I earned my MD from Meharry Medical College and completed a general surgery residency year at Baylor College of Medicine. I came to Ross to pivot from clinical medicine to to the business side of medicine, leveraging my clinical background and experience to solve complex business problems. Outside of class, I enjoy golf, basketball, fishing, football (Go Blue), and weight training.
I was initially drawn to Ross because of the strength and reach of its alumni network. Having attended smaller institutions in the past, I wanted a larger school with a broad and highly regarded alumni base. When I visited, the welcoming and collaborative culture stood out immediately. Coupled with Ross’s reputation as a consulting powerhouse, these factors confirmed that this was the ideal place for my next chapter.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about Ross, including academics, clubs, career switching, or the community. I am happy to share insights and help you learn more about life here.
