Saumya Nagar

Hello!  My name is Saumya and I'm currently an MBA1 focused on general management.  I was born in Ann Arbor, but grew up just south in Indianapolis.  

Prior to Ross, I worked for a year and a half for Ecolab in their Leadership Development Program (LDP) as an engineer, where I optimized production processes in a manufacturing setting.  After that point, I attended Air Force Officer Training School and served as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Officer for the next 8 years.  In this role, I primarily led emergency response operations, consulting leadership on biological, chemical, and radiation threats, as well as other industrial and environmental health hazards.  As an officer, I discovered my passion for leading and mentoring others.  After Ross, I aim to work in a Leadership Development Program to continue to learn different segments of business and also to lead others.  

I chose Ross because of it's collaborative culture and amazing sports environment.  The people here are wonderful, and student ambassadors were an integral part of my process of applying to the school.  Additionally, Ann Arbor is a wonderful college town, and food and entertainment are abundant.  

Outside of Ross, I am continuing military service in the Michigan Air National Guard.  I enjoy traveling, fitness, food, and hiking - all with my wife of 3 years.  If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me!
