Shubham Mishra

Class of 2026

I am a Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) student at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, with over eight years of experience in global maritime operations and industrial supply chains. Before joining Ross, I worked as a Marine Operations Engineer on oil and chemical tankers, leading multinational crews and managing complex operations across more than 50 countries. This hands-on experience gave me a deep appreciation for how global supply chains function in real-world, high-risk environments.

At Ross, I am a Ross Leaders Academy Fellow, where I focus on developing inclusive leadership, reflective decision-making, and effective communication in ambiguous and high-pressure settings. The program has helped me translate my operational background into a more people-centered and strategic leadership approach.

I also serve as the Alumni and Corporate Relations Chair for the MSCM Student Association, working closely with alumni, corporate partners, and the Ross Career Development Office to strengthen industry engagement. In this role, I have coordinated company presentations, networking events, and recruiting conversations that connect students with leaders across manufacturing, industrial technology, and supply chain consulting.

Academically, I am passionate about supply chain strategy, operations analytics, and industrial technology markets. I recently completed a Kearney-sponsored consulting engagement, where my team advised on end-market strategy and growth opportunities, further strengthening my interest in supply chain consulting and strategic roles.

As a first-generation college graduate, mentorship and community are especially important to me. As a Student Ambassador, I enjoy supporting prospective students, particularly those transitioning from technical or non-traditional backgrounds, by sharing candid insights about the MSCM program and life at Ross.
