Spencer Zeng

I’m Spencer (Xiang) Zeng, a first-year MBA candidate at Michigan Ross with a background in consulting and technology across Deloitte, EY-Parthenon, and Amazon. In these roles, I helped clients and sellers drive growth, improve efficiency, and scale new initiatives. These experiences sparked my passion for combining consulting and technology to create customer-centric solutions, which I’m excited to further explore at Ross.

Outside of class, I’m a dedicated runner—I’ve kept up a routine of running about 7km almost every day for the past eight years. While I know Ann Arbor winters can be brutally cold, I’m genuinely looking forward to the challenge of keeping up my runs through the snow. I also enjoy reading history and geography as another way to recharge.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be at Ross, I probably wouldn’t have believed it. Looking back, I’m especially grateful for the last-minute decision I made just before the application deadline that brought me here (though I wouldn’t recommend cutting it that close!). Since arriving, I’ve been inspired by the collaborative, supportive, and energizing community that truly makes Ross special.
