Taylor Plekker

Hi, I’m Taylor! One of the things that stood out to me most when I first connected with Ross was how genuine and welcoming the community felt. From students and alumni to faculty and staff, people were generous with their time, honest about their experiences, and excited to help me think through whether Ross was the right fit. That sense of community made a big impact on me, and it is something I hope to pay forward as an Alumni Ambassador. Whether you are just starting to explore business school or deciding between programs, I’m happy to be a resource as you navigate the process.

Before Ross, I lived and worked in Michigan, spending time in engineering, operations, and program management roles at Dematic and Lacks Enterprises. Much of my work focused on process improvement, information systems, and project execution. While at Dematic, I also had the opportunity to work with teams designing and installing Amazon sort centers, which helped spark my interest in supply chain technology and the systems that make large-scale operations work.

I came to business school because I wanted to build on my operations background while developing broader leadership, strategy, and product management skills. At Ross, I explored those interests through coursework, hands-on learning, and my MAP project with TVS Motor in India. I also interned at Amazon in Bellevue, Washington as a technical product manager, working in supply chain optimization technology. After graduation, I’m excited to return to Amazon full time in the same organization.

Outside of academics and recruiting, some of my favorite Ross memories came from getting involved in the community. I stayed active through MTrek, the Ross Ski & Snowboard Club, and the Ross Soccer Club, which gave me the chance to meet more of my class, build friendships, and make the most of my time in Ann Arbor. Outside of school and work, I continue to love soccer, skiing and snowboarding, hiking, traveling with friends, discovering new music, and spending time on or near the water.
