Victoria Rose Pinto

Class of 2025

My name is Victoria, and I am a first-generation American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  I had the privilege of attending the University of Michigan for my undergraduate studies where I pursued a Bachelor's of Music in Voice Performance under the instruction of Stephen Lusmann at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD).  Beyond performance, I pursued a minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship through SMTD's EXCELab.  My interest in marketing for the arts is what drove me to become the current marketing manager for several student-led performance-based organizations such as Touch of Blue:  New American Vocal Ensemble (the only vocal jazz group on campus) and Golden Theatre Company (a musical theater organization focused on golden age musicals).  Beyond the arts, I have a deep passion for building community, leading me to help further develop the SMTD First-Gen Initiative who welcomes all first-generation Americans and/or college students.

The Master of Management program was the perfect opportunity for someone like me with no business experience prior to graduate school to learn about business fundamentals and how to apply them in accordance to my interests.  For me, I hope to manage and support performing artists globally, as well as myself.  Throughout the program, I have enjoyed working closely with Dr. John Branch to build a website from scratch for the Cambridge University Ice Hockey Club Alumni Association, and I look forward to going abroad to Vienna with the Ross Global Initiatives for Spring Break.  Outside of the classroom, the community that the MM degree obtains is like no other.  I am so grateful to have such a fun, passionate, and supportive group of students, faculty, and staff around me.
