Capstone - Entrepreneurial Finance --- This Capstone course presents the fundamentals of entrepreneurial venture capital and private equity finance. In the first half of the course, we will discuss financing startup, early stage, and later-stage investments from the entrepreneur and the venture capitalist's perspective. The course covers venture capital market structure, institutional arrangements, and the application of financial theory and methods. Four main aspects of venture capital are covered: valuation, deal structuring, governance, and harvesting. We will use case studies to demonstrate the practical, hands-on application of techniques following their development in class. In the second half of the course, we will focus on private equity finance.
