Application Now Open for Fall 2026
The Michigan Ross Full-Time MBA application for Fall 2026 is now live. Here are some key updates and resources to consider as you prepare your application. Remember, our Round 1 deadline this year is Sept. 8.
Recommendations
We continue to require only one letter of recommendation. Choose a recommender who can speak to your professional performance and work style, ideally someone who has worked directly with you. A recommendation from your current supervisor is preferred.
If that isn't possible, consider a project manager, client, former supervisor, or, if you’re an entrepreneur, an investor. We use the Common Recommendation Form, which is accepted by Michigan Ross and nine other top 15 business schools, allowing your recommenders to answer the same questions and use a standard rating grid.
Essay and Statement Changes
We've made a few changes to this year's application essays. For detailed information on the new essay prompts, check out our previous blog post and watch our essay tips video.
We Now Accept the Executive Assessment
The Michigan Ross Full-Time MBA Program now officially accepts the Executive Assessment as a standardized test option alongside the GMAT and GRE. Designed for experienced professionals, the EA is a shorter, targeted exam that assesses the analytical and critical thinking skills needed for MBA success.
Applicants can choose the test that best fits their background and preparation strategy, and simply self-report unofficial scores during the application process, submitting official results if admitted. This added flexibility allows candidates to demonstrate their readiness in a way that aligns with their strengths while still maintaining the rigorous admissions standards Ross is known for.
We Now Accept the Duolingo English Test
The Michigan Ross Full-Time MBA Program also now recognizes the Duolingo English Test as an approved language proficiency option alongside TOEFL, PTE, and IELTS. If English is not your native language, you may submit your Duolingo score now, provided it is current at the time of enrollment, to satisfy the program’s language requirement. This added flexibility expands our global reach and accessibility, helping talented candidates from all regions of the world apply without the barriers of traditional testing logistics.
Scholarship Consideration
When you apply, you are automatically considered for scholarships — no separate application or extra work is needed. We review your entire application to assess your professional and personal achievements, academic ability, and potential contribution to the Ross community. If you receive an award, you will be notified upon admission.
Preparing Your Application
As you prepare your Ross application, focus on telling your story. Your application is how we get to know you, so be self-reflective and share your experiences both inside and outside of work. Here are our top suggestions for impressing the admissions committee:
- Understand and articulate your story.
- Be self-reflective.
- Highlight experiences from both your professional and personal life.

Information for Reapplicants
Are you thinking about reapplying for Fall 2026? If so, thoughtful self-reflection is essential to strengthen your candidacy. Take the time to review your previous application to identify areas that could be improved for greater competitiveness. You might consider retaking standardized tests, taking on leadership roles in new projects, refining your career goals, or choosing a recommender who can more effectively showcase your strengths.
If you’re reapplying within a year, you don’t need to start from scratch, but it’s essential to update key sections and demonstrate your growth since your last submission, including completing our new essay prompts.
