Meng Hsuan "Rex" Hsieh Wins Best PhD Student Paper Award at 2026 IAAE Conference

At the 2026 International Association for Applied Econometrics (IAAE) conference, Michigan Ross PhD Meng Hsuan "Rex" Hsieh received the best PhD student paper award. Hsieh's advisors were Andreas Hagemann, associate professor of business economics and public policy, and Joel Slemrod, William Davidson Professor of Business Administration and professor of business economics and public policy.

The conference took place between June 23-25 in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Nova School of Business and Economics. It featured 130 sessions, had more than 500 attendees, and over 200 papers were presented, with roughly half being PhD student papers.
