Career Background

Anurag Gupta has spent his career at the nexus of healthcare, technology, and innovation. Most recently he’s been focused on building Tembo Health as CEO and cofounder. Tembo Health is a technology and medical services company making senior care effortless. By building the "OnStar" of healthcare for seniors, Tembo Health enables clinicians and caregivers to receive actionable insights on their senior population to help coordinate the right care at the right time. Tembo Health’s initial on-demand telemedicine service has driven ER avoidance rates of 75% with NPS of 90+ to keep seniors across the country healthy, happy, and at home.

As a practicing emergency medicine physician, Dr. Gupta brings clinical insight along with business acumen to provide impactful solutions to healthcare systems and organizations. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at both the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Zucker School of Medicine. He received his MMSc in clinical informatics from Harvard Medical School, earned his MD and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan and, after training in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC, completed a postdoctoral NIH/NLM research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in emergency medicine, clinical informatics, and addiction medicine. Anurag resides in metro New York with his wife and two children.
