Shuhei Yamasaki, MBA '15
A designer of consumer audio products in Japan, Shuhei knew that a business education focused on strategy would help him reach his goals.
"A leader of a technology company should know not only technology things but also strategy and managerial things,” he says. “Ross is very famous for strategic education.” He appreciated the way his professors invested the time to bring their real-world business experience and state-of-the-art knowledge to life in the classroom. “The professors in the core courses are literally top professors,” he says.
Shuhei also appreciated how his GMBA classmates developed a strong cross-cultural bond – and learned as much from each other as they did from the professors – during the Asia Session. “We taught each other, and we helped each other, and sometimes we competed, but it was really fun,” he says.
In the Ann Arbor Session, he enjoyed becoming a part of the broader Ross community. An avid guitar player, he joined a music club at Ross as well as the Design + Business Club. “Ross has a diverse variety of students. We were able to get in touch with various cultures and ways of thinking,” he says. “And the students are really, really smart.”
