Courtney Buckner

Class of 2026

Prior to my time at Ross, I was working in the Retail Industry in San Francisco for 6 years. I worked my entire career in supply chain/inventory management in a variety of different roles. I started as an Analyst and worked my way up to Manager, where I had to opportunity to oversee a team and manage inventory for a multimillion dollar brand.

Although I loved the work I was doing, I wanted to explore the tech industry, which led me to apply to business school. The primary reason I chose Ross was that I wanted to be challenged both inside and outside the classroom, which is something Ross prides itself on with its abundance of action-based learning opportunities.

A little about myself: I am originally from California and had never lived outside of the state before coming to Ross. I’m from the Bay Area but also lived in San Diego, so if you have any anxieties about the Michigan winters, I can definitely relate. Outside of school, I love to play golf; I actually go to Hawaii every year to play in a tournament with my dad. I also enjoy a nice glass of wine, and Michigan (surprisingly) has a great selection. I watch more TV than I should, but some of my all-time favorites are Game of Thrones, Insecure, and Succession.

So far I have loved living in Ann Arbor and the overall MBA experience at Ross.

Please reach out if you have any questions about retail, life in Ann Arbor, golf, or the latest HBO series, etc.
