Maria Angelica Hernandez Veliz
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Lima. After spending several years in the tech industry, working with global companies like SAP, Xertica (Google Cloud Partner), and IBM, I developed a passion for creating innovative product strategies that meet real customer needs. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to explore a variety of tech solutions, from infrastructure services and customer experience to AI and low-code automation, and I’m excited to continue that journey post-MBA as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager. My work has also allowed me to collaborate with teams across different countries, which has enriched my professional and cultural perspectives.
I chose to pursue my MBA at Michigan Ross to strengthen my leadership skills and gain a deeper understanding of the global business landscape, with a specific focus on technology and product management. From day one, I’ve been impressed by the close-knit, collaborative environment at Ross, where the hands-on learning experiences and strong focus on leadership development align perfectly with my goals. The friendships I’ve already formed with my LABSA peers, my Hawaiian Mtrek team, and my section mates have made me feel incredibly welcomed. I’m excited to dive into everything Ross has to offer, from the Tech Club and Ski Club to Multidisciplinary Action Projects (MAP), while continuing to build meaningful relationships within this amazing community.
If you have any questions about life at Ross, the application process, living in Ann Arbor, or anything else, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share my experiences!
