Biography

I teach classes in corporate investment decisions, options & futures, and big data including machine learning. In 2020 I was awarded the Neary Teaching Excellence Award by Weekend MBA students and, in 2009 while at The University of Queensland, won the undergraduate teaching prize. My research has resulted in 16 publications in journals that include Review of Accounting Studies (expected share market returns from analyst forecasts), Accounting & Finance (imputation credits, superannuation, merger arbitrage), International Review of Finance (imputation credits), Applied Financial Economics (sector rotation), Journal of Contemporary Accounting & Economics (analyst forecast accuracy), Australian Journal of Management (persistence in earnings growth), JASSA (real options), and Accounting Research Journal (systematic risk measurement). My research has been relied upon by corporations listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, regulatory authorities, the New South Wales Treasury and the Australian Competition Tribunal. Prior to commencing an academic career I performed equities research for Credit Suisse in Sydney.
