Create strategies for the total financial inclusion of women affiliated with self-help groups (village-based financial committees).

Project Detail

Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana (RGMVP) is an initiative of the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust for the inclusive growth and a better life for the underprivileged in India. The MAP team was tasked with designing business solutions for the financial inclusion of rural women in RGMVP-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Uttar Pradesh. The MAP team assessed the current program in Uttar Pradesh, the context in which it exists, as well as the needs of the organization, SHG women, and the banks serving SHGs. Through this analysis, the team sought to understand the demand and supply side of financial inclusion for RGMVP SHGs to uncover potential gaps and deliver subsequent actionable recommendations.
