Meet the Three Outstanding New Professors at Michigan Ross

Samuel Anderson, Assistant Professor of Accounting

Education: PhD in management (accounting), MIT Sloan School of Management, 2022;  Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Science in accounting, Brigham Young University, 2017.

Course I will be teaching: Undergraduate core Financial Accounting.

Research interests: Capital markets, corporate sustainability, financial/non-financial disclosures, and additional topics at the intersection of accounting and finance.

Personal: “I grew up in eastern North Carolina, so I’m constantly dreaming of the beach (and fried chicken). I’m into fitness, food, sports, traveling, music, TV, and a lot more.”

Why I am excited to be at Michigan Ross: “It’s not the weather. Surely football. But in all seriousness, I’m excited to be at a university with such a strong reputation for collaboration and collegiality and look forward to working together with talented students and faculty to generate a positive impact.”

Jen Choi, Assistant Professor of Accounting

Education: PhD in accounting, Emory University, 2022; Master of Science in accounting, Seoul National University, 2017; Bachelor of Business Administration and Financial Engineering, Korea University, 2015.

Course I will be teaching: Undergraduate Managerial Accounting.

Research interests: Management control systems, executive compensation, and supply chain relationships.

Personal: “I’m into jogging and hiking. I am looking forward to exploring the beauty of Michigan nature.”

Why I am excited to be at Michigan Ross:  “Michigan Ross not only has a great tradition of accounting research, but also active scholars who are making an impact on current society. I am excited to be a part of this group to explore what we can accomplish together. “

Ruslan Momot, Assistant Professor of Technology and Operations

Previous appointments: ​​Visiting assistant professor of operations, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, 2021-22; assistant professor of operations management, HEC Paris, 2018-21.

Education: PhD and Master of Science in technology and operations management, INSEAD, 2019; Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and physics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, 2012.

Courses I will be teaching: Core Operations Management, MBA Program; Information Security, Privacy, and Ethics, MBAn Program; Consumer Privacy and Information Management in Operations, PhD Program.

Research interests: Consumer privacy, information design, operations and economics of information, information-based economies, social networks and digital platforms, data-driven decision-making, and prescriptive analytics.
