Ross Alumni Career Coaching: Empowering Success at Every Stage
Whether just starting a new job, navigating a career transition, or re-entering the workforce after several years, Michigan Ross alumni are finding invaluable support through the Ross Office of Advancement’s Alumni Career Coaching program.
Alums who schedule sessions with Ross career coaches, Lisa Morgan and Scott Egbert, describe an experience marked by tailored advice, unwavering encouragement, and a strategic approach tailored to today’s job-search landscape.
Just ask Jeremy King, MBA ’11.
“During one of the most challenging periods of my career, after an unexpected layoff, Lisa was there to help me quickly reorient to the new normal of a full-time job search,” he said. “She provided the tools and guidance I needed during each step of the journey.”
The career coaching program offers a wide range of practical tools and resources, including personalized coaching, resume reviews, LinkedIn support, and interview preparation. It also restores confidence and helps alumni discover and communicate their value.
“I felt lost and overwhelmed, especially given the harsh job market,” said Rachel Karaban, MBA ’24. “But the program helped me gain confidence and ace interviews, leading to securing a dream job.”
Manisha Vupputuri, MBA ’25, shared a similar experience:
Lisa and Scott both helped me polish my resume and LinkedIn, landing me an interview opportunity in the next month. Then they helped me ace all five rounds of my interviews with management and directors. After getting the offer, they sent me helpful information about salary negotiation, and now I'm working and know I can always reach out to plan for my future direction!
Whether navigating a first career transition or even a complex conversation in the workplace, alumni agree that the Ross coaching program offers a kind, strategic, and personalized partnership—one that makes all the difference.
"Today’s job search is extremely challenging,” said Lauren Albert, BBA ’21. “Scott and Lisa are incredible resources that every alumnus should leverage if they’re feeling stuck, slowed, or run-down in their search."
Carolina Yamamura, MBA ’18, concurs. “I was able to get free access to tools for self-discovery, counseling sessions, and LinkedIn best practices,” she said. “The meetings were super effective—I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to transition.”
Andrew Bracken, BBA ‘08, who graduated a decade earlier, agrees. “Ross provides strong benefits to alumni, many years after graduation,” he said. “I still use Ross's services instead of my graduate program’s because of the quality.”
Michigan Ross Alumni Career Coaching ensures that the Ross spirit of support, empowerment, and excellence endures at every career stage.
