Ross School of Business Hosts Inaugural Private Equity and Alternative Investments Summit in New York City

The University of Michigan Ross School of Business hosted an inaugural Private Equity and Alternative Investments Summit in New York City on Thursday, October 17. Nearly 100 alumni (from Michigan Ross and U-M), investors, and industry leaders participated. 

The summit kicked off with a panel discussion on Investment Strategies, Allocation, and Selection, featuring industry leaders such as Saleena Goel, partner and head of Customized Portfolio Solutions at KKR; Jose Fernandez, partner at StepStone Group; and Erik Lundberg, University of Michigan Chief Investment Officer. Jon Harris, CEO of AIM13, moderated the session. 

 Another panel discussion, CEO Perspectives, moderated by Jonathan Bilzin, co-CEO of TowerBrook Capital, featured Caryn Seidman Becker, Chair and CEO of CLEAR; Dave Deno, former CEO of Bloomin’ Brands Inc.; and Eric Remer, CEO of EverCommerce. 

 The gathering culminated in a dynamic Keynote Conversation featuring Sharon Matusik, Edward J. Frey Dean of Business at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business; David Kaplan, Co-Founder of Ares Management Corporation; and Stephen M. Ross, Chairman & Founder of Related Companies.

 “We are thrilled to have hosted our inaugural Private Equity and Alternative Investments Summit,” said Sharon Matusik, the Edward J. Frey Dean of Business at Michigan Ross. “The event highlighted the strength of our Michigan Ross community and our alumni's impact in finance and beyond.”

 The summit concluded with an evening reception for continued networking and discussions.
