Andrew V. Masterman
Andrew Masterman has served as Senior Managing Director of Madison Industries since September 2023. At Madison he works with leadership teams across the enterprise in making the world safer, healthier, and more productive as an operating partner to the group CEOs.
Prior to joining Madison, Mr. Masterman led BrightView Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BV) as CEO from December 2016 through May 2023. BrightView is the largest U.S. provider of commercial landscaping construction and maintenance. Andrew reversed the trajectory of the business via strong organic and M&A-based growth, revamped BrightView’s leadership team and successfully integrated the company’s East and West Coast operations into a single enterprise. Through continued acquisitions, he strengthened BrightView as the largest and only publicly traded company in the industry. Brightview employs 20,000 people and grew to $2.8 billion in revenue during his tenure.
Mr. Masterman served as Executive Vice President at Precision Castparts Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway company that specializes in manufacturing structural investment castings, forged components, and airfoil castings for aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines, from April 2012 to November 2016. At Precision Castparts Corporation, Mr. Masterman also served as President of the Wyman Gordon and Structural Casting divisions. Prior to Precision Castparts Corporation, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of North America for ESAB Group, Inc., a leader in welding and cutting equipment and consumables, from August 2009 to April 2012.
Mr. Masterman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in Political Science from The Colorado College and advanced degrees in Engineering, Japanese Studies and Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Anthony and Sylvan Pools, the Board of Trustees at The Colorado College and the Board of Governors of the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
He resides in Orcas Island, WA and Villanova, PA with his wife Cheryl. He has three children, Zoe, Nicholas, and Ryan.
