Career Background

Dr. Anurag Gupta is the founder and CEO of Simple Access Healthcare, a technology based medical services platform focused on chronic disease management. Simple Access Healthcare provides high quality clinical care to patients with limited access and resources, leveraging clinical decision support and artificial intelligence to optimize care plans. He is also a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, and serves as a physician advisor to telemedicine companies Teladoc and MDLive. Overall, Gupta's interests within healthcare include artificial intelligence, telemedicine, clinical transformation, clinical decision support, clinical informatics, and growth strategies ― all with a focus to improve patient access and outcomes.

Gupta received his Informatics MMSc from Harvard Medical School, holds MD and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan, and, after training in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC, completed a postdoctoral NIH/NLM research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is board certified in both emergency medicine and clinical informatics.

A practicing emergency physician, Gupta brings clinical insight along with business acumen to provide impactful solutions to healthcare systems and organizations. While at Partners Healthcare in Boston, he built clinical decision support tools to provide real-time support to physicians at Brigham and Women's Hospital resulting in improved utilization of resources and patient safety. While at Northwell Health, he lead transformation teams on several initiatives leveraging Lean and Six Sigma to increase efficiency and quality, while decreasing cost across 20 hospitals. While at BCG, he was a member of the healthcare practice with a focus on growth strategy and M&A across Pharma, MedTech, and Providers.

Gupta is open to collaborative opportunities and advising, especially with Michigan alumni and students.
