Mary Ellen Coe
Mary Ellen serves as the Chief Business Officer for YouTube, driving YouTube as the home of the creative economy and the epicenter of culture, content, innovation and building businesses. Mary Ellen leads all global business operations, content plus distribution partnerships across multiple areas and YouTube's monetization ecosystem, including streaming businesses like YouTube TV, YouTube Music and YouTube Premium, in addition to supporting the company's advertising business. Mary Ellen also oversees the YouTube Partner Program, the largest partner ecosystem of creators, artists and media companies around the world.
Previously, Mary Ellen served as the President of Google Customer Solutions, overseeing the global ads business for mid-market and small businesses, serving millions of customers and thousands of partners worldwide. Her team supported businesses to get online and grow, focused on sales and operations for this high-growth segment as well as the acquisition of new customers and channel partners for Google Ads and YouTube.
Prior to joining Google in 2012, Mary Ellen was a Partner with McKinsey & Company for 12 years, where she advised leading consumer, media and tech companies, and led the Consumer Marketing and Sales practice in North America. Earlier in her career, she spent 11 years in marketing and brand strategy, helping leading brands expand their global reach. Mary Ellen completed her BA from the University of Michigan.
Mary Ellen is a Director on the Board of Merck & Co., Inc. and member of the Ross School Advisory Board at the University of Michigan. She served on the Whole Foods Market Board of Directors, and was involved in stewarding the company through the acquisition by Amazon. She resides in Los Altos Hills, California with her husband and two daughters.
