Danielle Sockin
As a dual MBA/MPP candidate at the University of Michigan, I am passionate about increasing the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in healthcare and education, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes and accessibility. Prior to coming to Ross, I worked in economic and tax policy consulting at a boutique firm in Washington, D.C., where I conducted research and data analysis for clients ranging from nonprofits to local government agencies. My work primarily focused on hospital cost transparency and profitability, but I also developed models in Excel and R to forecast D.C. tax revenues, assess the impacts of carbon sequestration tax credit changes, and evaluate global tax evasion risks. During my undergraduate studies, I completed internships with the President's Council of Economic Advisers, the Department of the Treasury's Markets Room, and the Department of State's Office of Monetary Affairs, each of which inspired me to pursue the connections between business economics and public policy.
What drew me to Ross, and to the University of Michigan more broadly as a dual-degree student, was the academic rigor, the collaborative and supportive community, and an immediate love for Ann Arbor. Outside of academics, you will likely find me watching a soccer game, listening to a podcast, or exploring downtown Ann Arbor. Please reach out with any questions!
