Ginamarie Gianandrea

Class of 2022

I'm passionate about making the US healthcare system better, easier to navigate, and more affordable. I spent nearly 10 years before business school working with payers, providers, and purchasers on health system transformation in California, but knew that I wanted to have impact at scale.

I came to Ross to supplement my healthcare expertise with core business and leadership skills so that I could pivot into strategy and general management roles at industry-leading healthcare companies. While at Ross, I completed a healthcare management concentration, did a healthcare-focused MAP, and co-chaired the annual Healthcare and Life Sciences Symposium. After graduating from Ross, I moved to NYC and joined UnitedHealth Group full time in their leadership rotational program, where I've worked in strategy, innovation, and product roles.

Beyond my academic and professional interests, I got the chance to experience everything the full time MBA program at Ross has to offer. Highlights include leadership development programming offered by the Sanger Leadership Center, spending Saturdays in the fall tailgating at the Ross Bus before cheering the Wolverines on to another undefeated season, and being on the planning committee for MBgAy, our annual drag competition and fundraiser.

I love talking to prospective students about the Ross experience. If you don't know where to start, reach out anyway. You can always ask me about:

  • Being first-gen and/or LGBTQ+ at Ross
  • Moving to Ann Arbor with a partner (and pets)
  • Transitioning from nonprofits to the private sector
  • Pursuing healthcare, general management, and strategy roles post-MBA
