Harshvardhan Joshi
I am not your typical business school student. Born and raised near Mumbai and having worked in the breathtaking Himalayan region of India, I developed an early passion for mountaineering and adventure. My journey from the Himalayan peaks to the classrooms of Ross exemplifies my determination to scale new heights, both in the mountains and in my career, while leaving a positive impact on the world. Along with a 250K+ following across social media, I am a 3x TED speaker and shortlisted Forbes 30U30 2023.
Beyond my physical prowess, I have a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to sustainable practices in mountaineering. I have actively promoted responsible trekking during carbon-neutral expeditions, emphasizing Leave No Trace principles and advocating for the preservation of these fragile ecosystems.
My pursuit of excellence extends to the academic realm as well. I bring my unique perspective to the Ross School of Business, where I am currently pursuing an MBA. I view business as a way to create positive change, much like the way mountaineering has shaped my character and resilience. I am passionate about leveraging my skills in strategy and leadership to make a meaningful impact in the world.
As a student ambassador at Ross, I will eagerly share my inspirational journey and my zeal for the outdoors, believing that the lessons learned in the mountains- perseverance, teamwork, and adaptability- resonate deeply with the values of the Ross community. In my leisure, I continue to explore Michigan's natural beauty and beyond while training for IRONMAN races.
