Ira Yun
My name is Ira Yun. Before attending Ross, I worked as a news announcer and reporter in Korea, covering major political and economic events, interviewing industry leaders, and delivering live broadcasts of national significance. My experience in broadcasting, particularly in understanding audience engagement and clear communication, naturally evolved into a leadership role in marketing, where I served as the head of the marketing department. In that position, I led strategic campaigns, leveraging my expertise in crafting narratives and managing cross-functional teams to drive brand growth.
After several years in these industries, I realized I wanted to transition into a role where I could oversee processes directly. While exploring fields that would allow me to grow in this capacity, I discovered the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at Ross. This path not only aligned with my interests but also connected seamlessly with my previous experience in entrepreneurship, having founded a startup. The field of operations, with its focus on strategic management and execution, has allowed me to leverage both my entrepreneurial and marketing expertise while continuously learning and thriving.
On a personal note, I spent about 10 years in Los Angeles during my teenage years and still keep in touch with friends from that time. I'm incredibly grateful to have met such wonderful people, and now at Ross, I continue to build meaningful connections. These experiences have not only enriched my life but also created lasting memories that I’m deeply thankful for. I hope everyone at Ross can create their own great memories and experiences as well.
