Jacqueline Barraza
As a first-generation Latina from Los Angeles (go Dodgers!), I was searching for a community that would not only help me achieve my goals but also make me feel welcomed. From the moment I made my first Ross connection, I was blown away by their warmth and willingness to support me. I knew this was a special place where I could thrive!
Prior to Ross, I spent five years working in a finance and accounting function where I focused on maintaining the organization legal and solvent. During my tenure, I found myself drawn to the type of roles our board of directors, finance committee, and donors had, so I decided to pursue an MBA to dive deeper into the world of finance and pivot in my career.
At Ross, I have gained early access to advanced finance courses through the Fast Track in Finance (FTF) program and am receiving invaluable support from the Investment Banking Club to advance my career in investment banking. Outside of school, you can find me strength training at the rec center or exploring coffee shops around Ann Arbor.
As a student ambassador, I am excited to be a resource in your MBA application process! Feel free to reach out to chat about being the first in your family to pursue an MBA, moving to Ann Arbor from the West Coast, thinking about switching industries or functions, applying through the Consortium, or anything that will help you hit that submit button!
