As a first-generation Latina in business, creating a sense of belonging is really important to me. From the moment I connected with Ross, I felt like I was part of something special, and I want to make sure others feel the same. I’m here to be a resource for you as you navigate this journey—I was just in your shoes less than a year ago! More importantly, I want to help you feel good about whichever path you choose, so that it’s a decision you’re confident and happy with.
Before joining the amazing community at Michigan Ross, I was living in Central New Jersey, working for the past 4.5 years at Johnson & Johnson MedTech | Surgery as a medical device sales rep. New Jersey will always be home, but I also spent four incredible years at Dickinson College in central Pennsylvania, where I majored in International Business & Management and Italian Studies. One of the highlights of my college experience was spending a year abroad in Bologna, Italy, which really deepened my love for travel and learning about new cultures.
I decided to come to business school because I wanted to make a big shift—both in the industry I work in and the type of work I do. My time in surgical sales taught me a lot about how products make it to market, but I found myself wanting to be on the other side of the process, making strategic decisions that influence how consumers choose products. That’s what led me to explore brand management in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space.
Michigan Ross felt like the perfect place for me, not only because it could help me grow in areas like marketing and CPG, but also because I knew it was a place where I could develop as a leader in and out of the classroom. When I leave Ross, I want to feel confident that I can make thoughtful decisions and contribute in a meaningful way to any organization I join.
