Michael Muhammad Somantri
Hello! I'm from Indonesia. Before Ross, I worked as a drilling engineer at an O&G company, where I was assigned to develop well planning for future offshore development wells. I came to Michigan to pivot my career to work in the intersection of business and sustainability. As a dual-degree student at the Erb Institute, I spent last summer working with Ebb Carbon, a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology startup, where I focused on business development and strategic initiatives for productive acid use cases. This experience provided me with firsthand insight into how the carbon market drives innovation pipelines. After completing my studies at Ross, I aspire to work for a company in the energy or climate-tech sector, contributing to the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies aimed at addressing climate challenges. Ultimately, I hope to establish a climate-tech ecosystem in my home country.
I'm an avid distance runner and golfer. Ask me anything about pivoting career, running, living abroad, being a dual-degree student or just life in general. Go Blue!
