Hometown: Royal Oak, Michigan
Hi everyone! I am thrilled to see that you are interested in attending the Ross School of Business. My name is Tayla and I am a sophomore concentrating in Strategy and potentially minoring in Community Action and Social Change, and Entrepreneurship. I am from Royal Oak, Michigan, about 15 minutes north of Detroit. In my free time, I love photography, kayaking, and spending time with my dog Maya! One of my greatest passions would be bringing out the strengths and creativity of others, which has led me to value working in team settings, and developing my leadership skills. This passion led me to choose Ross to continue my education, and has only developed further throughout my time here thus far. What made me choose Michigan was the commitment the entire university has to collaboration, peer mentorship and community. That, mixed with the work-life balance I have found to be unparalleled to other schools, led me to choosing Ann Arbor as the place to call home for the next four years!
The community that I have been able to form here, from the different clubs I have joined to the summer program I had the opportunity to participate in, Ross Summer Connection, has provided me with an opportunity to challenge my knowledge, grow my public speaking skills, and learn from diverse perspectives — experiences that are irreplaceable.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, I would be more than happy to share my experiences and what I know to help you decide if Michigan, and Ross, is the place for you! As always, Go Blue!
Where is your favorite place to eat in Ann Arbor? My favorite place in AA to eat would be Cafe Zola!
