If you are not already familiar with the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, I encourage you to check it out.

The Consortium’s mission is to enhance diversity in business education and leadership by helping to reduce the significant underrepresentation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans in its member schools’ enrollments and in the ranks of management.

Michigan Ross has a long history as a member of the Consortium. In fact, we have the largest CGSM alumni network with over 1,100 alumni. (Read our recent story on past Michigan Ross student body presidents who were also CGSM members.)

If you are able to demonstrate a commitment to increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the business community, I encourage you to consider applying to Michigan Ross through The Consortium

Applying through the Consortium has advantages over applying directly to partner schools in a few key ways.

Streamlined application process

Applying through the Consortium allows you to apply to up to six of its member schools through a common application (plus essays for each school).

Save money on application fees

Applying through the Consortium enables you to pay $150 - $300 in application fees for up to six schools, rather than $200 or $250 per school as you would have to do applying to those schools outside of the Consortium’s application process.

Put yourself in consideration for a Consortium fellowship.

If you apply through the Consortium, you will be considered for a Consortium fellowship from the schools that admit you. The fellowship - awarded and funded by the school - would support your tuition and fees for your MBA.

I’m proud of the long partnership that Michigan Ross has had with the Consortium, and I look forward to recruiting many more Consortium students to our school.
