A Surplus of Success: Meet the Michigan Ross Master of Supply Chain Management Class of 2024
In June 2023, the Ross School of Business welcomed a new cohort of passionate and dedicated students to its Master of Supply Chain Management Program, which was recently ranked No. 3 in the world by QS World University Rankings.
The Michigan Ross MSCM Class of 2024 comprises 69 students, 39% of whom are women. The 2024 cohort hails from nine countries and 47 undergraduate institutions and represents 24 different undergraduate majors. This new class also comes to Ross with a highly impressive academic record, entering the program with an average GPA of 3.65.
Since the 10-month program began a few weeks ago, MSCM students have already begun to embrace the strategic, STEM-based curriculum at Ross and are learning the real-world supply chain insights they’ll need to position themselves for long-term success.
Below, meet four members of the MSCM Class of 2024.

What is your post-graduation career interest?

Why did you decide to enroll in the Michigan Ross MSCM Program?
After a couple of years working in the export area of a shoe factory, I realized I needed a deeper understanding of other sectors to optimize resources and arrive at sustainable solutions. I wanted to continue my education in an action-based program, and the Ross curriculum had exactly what I was looking for.
What made the Ross MSCM Program stand out to you versus other programs?
There were many different factors — the ranking was one of them, and since I’m interested in including sustainability within the supply chain, the elective courses at Ross caught my attention. Also, I recognized that their core classes will complement my career from different perspectives, and I liked that this program accepts people from diverse backgrounds, which I think gives a greater value to the content of the classes. All of these reasons made me realize that Ross was the best option for me.
What are you most looking forward to in the program and at Ross?
I’m really looking forward to participating in the Consulting Studio and enrolling in the Sustainable Operations and Supply Chain Management (TO 560) class with Professor Ravi Anupindi during the winter term.
How do you think this experience at Ross will impact your future?
I think the program’s interdisciplinary approach will help me to become a factor in the transformation of different enterprises and give me a better comprehension of global problems so I can eventually design greener supply chains.

With the growing significance of supply chain management worldwide, I am motivated to
continually explore my interest in making the supply chain industry more efficient and
sustainable after my undergraduate studies. The strong reputation of Michigan Ross in the supply chain industry makes it the ideal choice for me to enhance my skills in this field.
What made the Ross MSCM Program stand out to you versus other programs?
In addition to the strong reputation and high ranking of the Michigan Ross MSCM Program, the
curriculum really stands out to me as it will not only enrich my understanding of supply chain
management principles, but will also allow me to develop my skills in leadership, data analytics, and problem-solving.
What are you most looking forward to in the program and at Ross?
I am most excited about connecting with faculty and students from around the world. I am
looking forward to learning from their valuable experiences and building meaningful connections.
How do you think this experience at Ross will impact your future?
I believe that Ross will develop me into a leader who will bring innovative ideas to the table, including advanced technologies, sustainable practices, and comprehensive supply chain strategies, to positively impact the industry.

Why did you decide to enroll in the Michigan Ross MSCM Program?
I began looking into getting my master’s degree in supply chain management because I wanted to gain more knowledge in the supply chain field, as well as the opportunity to gain experience in the industry, before going into my career.
What made the Ross MSCM Program stand out to you versus other programs?
I found the opportunity to join the Tauber Institute for Global Operations' BTS Fast-Track program, where I was able to take MSCM summer classes during my undergraduate studies and take part in an internship through Tauber. Finding this program seemed like the perfect opportunity to obtain my master's degree and gain valuable internship experience.
What are you most looking forward to in the program and at Ross?
I am very excited to learn from top-tier professors as well as have amazing career support as I recruit for my full-time job. Within the MSCM program, I'm very excited to take part in the Supply Chain Consulting Studio class in the winter and apply everything I have learned in the program.
How do you think this experience at Ross will impact your future?
As I previously mentioned, Ross provides impressive academic and career search support. I am confident that I will be prepared to enter my career with valuable knowledge of operations and with a company where I feel I belong and can make a difference. I don't think I would be able to find an opportunity like that without the support of Michigan Ross and the MSCM Program.

Why did you decide to enroll in the Michigan Ross MSCM Program?
As a graduate student coming from an IT background, I was always curious about the performance of a product from a business perspective. After looking at the Ross MSCM course overview, I found the program to be very holistic, practical, and collaborative. Moreover, carrying the Ross brand name adds immense weight to my candidacy.
What made the Ross MSCM Program stand out to you versus other programs?
The main reason I prioritized the Ross MSCM Program over other peer programs is the reputation that it holds globally. In fact, the program structure has been aligned in such a way that every student gets significant real-time industry exposure, especially through the characteristic Supply Chain Consulting Studio course that starts in the winter term.
What are you most looking forward to in the program and at Ross?
I firmly believe that businesses can be better understood and run when there is a strong understanding of diverse cultures. Personally, the exposure that Ross would offer through its vibrant cohort is something that I really look forward to experiencing.
How do you think this experience at Ross will impact your future?
The Ross network is just as this famous line from Thor says: "Asgard is not a place; it's a people!" The Michigan Ross connection will have a huge career impact going into the future because the Ross alumni network is one of the strongest among the business schools. It is easy for students to connect with organizations, as Ross alumni are very widespread. The Ross experience will definitely carve out the finest version of myself.
