It’s Official: Michigan Ross’ New Building Is Open, and It’s Stunning
Michigan Ross this week officially cuts the ribbon on 179,000 square feet of new state-of-the-art classrooms, student collaboration and study spaces, offices, and a redesigned digital library.
It was 27 months in the making, but when the new Jeff T. Blau Hall and renovated Kresge Hall are officially inaugurated this week, they will provide more than just space for Michigan Ross’ increasing student population. The buildings are an architectural achievement of form, function, and sustainability, and will be a stunning new addition to the University of Michigan and Ross campus.
Designed to enhance collaboration between faculty and students in the digital age, Blau Hall features:
9 new classrooms
Including a “Classroom of the Future,” which features a high-definition digital infrastructure and flexible space designed to facilitate team-based action learning, where class time is used to work on projects addressing real business challenges.
Two workshop or “maker” spaces
Featuring movable furniture and whiteboards to encourage brainstorming and collaboration.
A “Center for Centers”
Where most of the school’s world-leading centers and institutes — focused on specific subjects like leadership, sustainability, social impact, and more — can share and work together to create student experiences and support faculty research.
A completely redesigned Kresge Library Services
Transitioning from a collection of physical reference materials to a full suite of information resources and research services, guided by expert staff.
