Taking place alongside the United Nations General Assembly this week, the forum — being held virtually — will address the topic “Reimagining Resilience Through Inclusive Business Innovation.” London will speak on “Three Imperatives for the Journey Ahead” at 7:45 a.m. EDT Thursday.
According to the forum website, “The event will tap into BCtA’s member network of inclusive business trailblazers to highlight real-world examples of business models that address both immediate COVID-related concerns and contribute to longer-term sustainable development and recovery.”
The United Nations formed Business Call to Action to “accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals by challenging companies to develop inclusive business models that engage people at the base of the economic pyramid,” according to the group’s website.
London helped popularize the base-of-the-pyramid concept and has researched and written extensively on the subject. He is the Ford Motor Co. Clinical Professor of Business Administration and area chair of business administration at the Ross School of Business, as well as a senior research fellow at the William Davidson Institute.
